Dona Dubbs, M.A., LCPC, CCMHC

Are you seeking a more authentic and genuine version of yourself? The person you believe yourself to be, but have a hard time connecting with? We each have parts of ourselves that need more care and attention, and I want to help you get there.

I received my Masters in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University. I have an emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family therapy. I am passionate about working with individuals and couples as they navigate daily life stressors, relationship distress, anxiety and depression. I work with ages 5 and older. Whether you are wanting regular life maintenance and prevention or you are struggling to get through each day - I am here to help you feel more connected with yourself and heal in way that helps you move forward.

My Approach

I care about all parts of you - your mind, body, and current experience. I focus on the emotions you feel, what you are thinking, and how your body experiences the “here-and-now.” All of these are interacting with one another to create each moment, and I want to help you gain awareness of them.

I want to be connected with you in session as we begin to process the past, present, and future together. Leaning on our present experience in session can help clue us in to what we may be feeling and thinking.

I incorporate skills and interventions from a variety of approaches including, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

My Office

Take note

Counseling is for anyone and everyone. Whether this is your first or fifth time seeking counseling, you are welcome here.

Counseling may seem intimidating or uncertain. You may feel nervous before sessions, and this is okay! I am here with you as we navigate this experience.

I offer a free phone consultation to see if we are a good fit, but it’s okay if we don’t work out. I understand that we may not connect in the way you hoped we would. I care more about your mental health journey than you sticking with me.

My office is a safe space always. I want you to feel open and cared for. A place to experience and express all kinds of emotion. You can come as you are.
